The Nutmeg Companies, Inc. Acquired by a Private Investment Group
We are pleased to announce the sale of our client, The Nutmeg Companies, Inc., to a private group of investors that is active in the mechanical and building services space across 11 states. The acquisition closed June 1, 2026.
Headquartered in Norwich, Connecticut, The Nutmeg Companies, Inc. is a family-owned general and mechanical contracting firm that has been serving clients throughout the Northeast since 1988. The company specializes in design-build and bid-build construction services, delivering projects across the commercial, healthcare, industrial, educational, government, and federal sectors. With in-house capabilities that include HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, carpentry, process piping, and value engineering, Nutmeg Companies provides comprehensive solutions from project conception through completion. Known for its hands-on approach and commitment to quality, the company has built a strong reputation for executing complex renovation, repair, remodeling, and new construction projects while fostering long-term relationships with clients across a wide range of industries.
Nutmeg Companies is now part of a combined company with over 750 talented trades people with locations that span the Mountain West, Central and East Coast regions. The company employs both union and non-union staff and works actively on large and small projects with both public and private customers.
