JMPE Electrical Engineering Acquired by Agathos AEC, a Portfolio Company of Hunter Forest Capital

We are pleased to announce the sale of our client, JMPE Electrical Engineering, to Agathos AEC, a portfolio company of Hunter Forest Capital. The acquisition closed February 2, 2026.

Based in Santa Barbara, California, JMPE Electrical Engineering is a full-spectrum electrical engineering and lighting design firm serving commercial, industrial, government, and residential clients. Founded in the mid 1990s, the company specializes in power, lighting and signal system design, distribution system engineering, short circuit and coordination studies, Title 24 lighting calculations, arc flash analysis and photovoltaic solar design, all aimed at delivering efficient, code-compliant solutions for built environments. With additional offices in Bakersfield and Santa Maria, JMPE combines technical expertise with personalized service to support architects, facility managers and owners in achieving practical, energy-efficient electrical and lighting outcomes across diverse project types.

Headquartered in Galveston, Texas, Agathos AEC is currently executing a strategy to build a diversified, nationwide architecture and engineering design firm. The platform is actively seeking to partner with small, entrepreneurial firms that are at a critical inflection point and can benefit from the professional services brought to the table by the Agathos corporate team.
