Breaker Electric Ltd., an electrical contracting firm based in Calgary, Alberta, has been acquired by Robertson Bright Inc., an electrical contracting firm in Mississauga, Ontario. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

Breaker Electric maintains services, installs and designs electrical equipment used in commercial infrastructure; Robertson Bright specializes in commercial and industrial electrical services. Under the agreement, Breaker Electric will operate as a subsidiary of Robertson Bright in conjunction with another subsidiary of the firm, Arco Electric, which Robertson Bright acquired in March of 2007 in a deal also brokered by Generational Equity.

In January 2007, Breaker Electric retained Generational Equity to provide business valuation and exit planning services. Generational Equity assisted in identifying a buyer, securing a competitive offer and negotiating the transaction.

Managing director Stephen Crisham and Toby Pence, assistant vice-president, along with Ted Rattenberry, Generational Equity’s affiliate for western Canada, led Generational Equity’s deal team in marketing and negotiating the transaction.
