Mark McKearn is a Senior Business Strategist for Generational Consulting Group. He is also a Vistage CEO Group Chair providing leadership and coaching for CEOs of small business entrepreneurs and middle market companies. Mark is an experienced C-level leader in the military and private sector, adept at building and leading organizations in tough and challenging conditions. A retired U.S. Army Colonel and Master Army Aviator, Mark has led large complex organizations on the battlefield as well as spearheading the growth of private sector aerospace companies ranging from a startup through medium sized businesses.

During his 30 years of active-duty, 11 spent living abroad, Mark held leadership and staff positions of increasingly greater complexity and responsibility. Leading at every level, culminating in the command of an aviation brigade deployed to Afghanistan with P&L responsibility for 3,000 personnel, 100 helicopters and $600M equipment with a $20M annual operating budget. He is a combat tested leader experienced in building and leading organizations in tough, and challenging environments which make him uniquely equipped to help leaders to build strong and resilient teams that can perform at exceptional levels while thriving or in distressed situations.  In addition to leading soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan, he led peace keeping operations in Serbia and has twice spearheaded U.S. international humanitarian relief operations in Austria and Pakistan. Mark completed his career as the Dean of Student Affairs for the 4,000 cadets at West Point.

Mark spent nine years in the aerospace private sector leading business development and program management efforts for Inter-Coastal Electronics and World View Enterprises. His responsibilities included market analysis, customer interface, capture lead and relationship management with the Department of Defense, Other Government Agencies, Foreign Governments, NASA, Universities and Research Institutions. He led financial, schedule and performance of programs from contract award through life cycle sustainment of $40M annually.

He currently leads a CEO group in Phoenix for Vistage Worldwide, the world’s largest CEO coaching and peer advisory organization (23,000 members worldwide) for small and midsize businesses. Mark brings his exclusive group of high-performing CEOs together in confidential monthly advisory board meetings, to gain the perspective, clarity and support to grow personally and professionally, become better leaders and accelerate their companies’ growth.

Mark earned a BS from the United States Military Academy at West Point where he played on the Army Football Team and an MA in Strategic Studies from Naval War College at Newport, RI. Mark is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified executive coach with a Coaching Certification from the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT, Dallas. In 2009 he was inducted into the Beloit, Wisconsin Sports Hall of Fame. Mark resides in Mesa, AZ and has four adult children, two of which are active-duty Army officers.
