Generational Group Advises Hampton Roads Mechanical of Virginia in its Sale to Amalgam Capital

Founded in 1986, Hampton Roads Mechanical of Virginia (HRMVA) is a full-service mechanical contractor in Chesapeake, Virginia. The Company provides mechanical services for commercial, industrial, medical, and institutional facilities throughout Southeast Virginia and Northeast North Carolina. HRMVA seeks to exceed customers’ expectations by providing high-quality, cost-effective mechanical construction in a professional and timely manner. 

Amalgam Capital, LLC, located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, acquires and sustainably grows underrated businesses as independent sponsors. Their multidisciplinary team of investors, entrepreneurs, and operators has created substantial value for others. The firm seeks to invest in consumer products, distribution, industrial manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and industrial services. This acquisition was made under their newly formed holding company, Mechanair, simultaneous to one other acquisition in the same industry.

Generational Group Executive Managing Director, M&A-Technology Practice Leader, David Fergusson, and his team, led by Managing Director, Mergers and Acquisitions, Jack Sluiter, with the support of Vice President, M&A, Tristan Keeffe, successfully closed the deal. Senior Managing Director Terry Stidham established the initial relationship with HRMVA.
