The Decor Group Acquired by Wonder Franchises, a Subsidiary of Tucker’s Farm Corporation
We are pleased to announce the sale of our client, The Decor Group, to Wonder Franchises, a subsidiary of Tucker’s Farm Corporation. The acquisition closed November 13, 2024.
Located in Irving, Texas, Christmas Decor (also known as The Decor Group) is the country’s leading franchisor of premium exterior Christmas and holiday decorating services. Founded in 1996 by Blake Smith, the company generates approximately $75 million in system sales across 200 franchisees and 240 territories. Led by Smith as CEO and Brandon Stephens as President, The Decor Group has been helping contractors expand their businesses with specialty lighting services since its inception. Through its service brands—Christmas Decor (holiday & event decorating), Nite Time Decor (landscape & architectural lighting), and PermaLites365 (permanent RGB roofline lighting)—the company services over 30,000 properties annually. Christmas Decor provides its franchises with training, support, systems, and products to scale their specialty divisions quickly and profitably.
Based in Massachusetts, Wonder Franchises is a holding company subsidiary of Tucker’s Farm led by CEO, Adam Lewin. Founded in 2023 with committed capital from Tucker’s Farm and select institutional partners, Wonder Franchises is dedicated to aggregating emerging franchisors, franchisees and select multi-site retail assets. Wonder Franchises seeks to be a long-term home for a world-class portfolio of brands and related assets.
Tucker’s Farm Corporation is a value-oriented investment holding vehicle. Founded in 1994 as a small goat dairy, Tucker’s Farm has grown into a family of companies across industries and geographies. Capitalized with a long-term equity base, Tucker’s Farm seeks to find and compound cash flows through highly active M&A strategies.
Adam Lewin, a partner on the private equity team at Tucker’s Farm and CEO of Wonder franchises, remarked, “We couldn’t be more excited to acquire Christmas Decor and to partner with Blake and Brandon. We look at many franchise systems and two things really stood out here: the strength of the underlying franchisee businesses and the quality of the leadership team. We believe there’s a lot of opportunity not only to add franchisees to the system but to help existing franchisees continue to grow their businesses. Our philosophy is that, if our franchisees do well, we will too – franchisee health will be our north star. Our goal is to build on the tremendous foundation Blake and Brandon have built and to make this next chapter a great one for the system.”
Blake Smith, founder of The Decor Group, added, “We care deeply about our franchisees, and we feel like the folks at Wonder are the perfect fit for our vision for the business. We love their core values, and they really lived them throughout this process. We value their focus on franchise businesses, with their team bringing experience across several systems of varying sizes and industries. We anticipate that this arrangement will accelerate the growth and overall health of the business and expand our franchisees’ reach to even more markets.”
Generational Group Executive Managing Director, M&A – Michael Goss, with the support of Vice President, M&A, Brennon Dunbar, successfully closed the deal. Executive Managing Director and Group Leader, Randy Kamin, and Senior M&A Advisor, Dr. Michael Lorence, established the initial relationship with The Decor Group. The Décor Group initially started its journey as a client of Generational Consulting Group (GCG) with President of GCG, T.D. Decker, received GCG’s Strategic Growth Plan, and began immediately implementing the growth strategies outlined within, and ultimately engaged Generational Group to take them to market and advise them through the M&A process.
Michael Goss said, “Blake and Brandon have built the most amazing and world-class Christmas and holiday lighting and outdoor décor Franchise system, focusing on quality and service of their system franchisees at all costs. It was amazing to see the relationship between them and Adam and the rest of the Wonder team become so quickly embedded in the same excitement and core values, and I am convinced that together they will move mountains and provide even more outstanding services and opportunities for growth to the entire Christmas Décor franchise system, enriching communities and local economies across the US and Canada!”
Ryan Binkley, CEO of Generational Group, added, “At Generational Group, we are proud to facilitate such impactful transactions.”
