Generational Equity president Ryan Binkley and vice presidents Paul Blake and Jay Hellwig joined Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban on the basketball court on March 30, 2016, to present the proceeds of the 2015 Dallas Jingle Bell Run to the Mavs Foundation and the Trinity Strand Trail.

We’re delighted to be part of the Jingle Bell Run that supports the great work of @TrinityStrand & @mavsfoundation!

Director Katie Edwards received the check on behalf of the Mavs Foundation, while Trinity Strand Trail executive director Shelly White represented the Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail.

The Mavs Foundation builds a stronger community by empowering youth, women and families that need it most through financial support, advocacy and service. Since October 1996, the 501(c)(3) has granted more than $3.5 million to nonprofit organizations serving women, children and families in need in addition to creating reading & learning centers, along with basketball courts across North Texas. The gifts change lives by supporting programs for kids in foster care, victims of domestic abuse, families struggling with homelessness and hunger, and more.

The Trinity Strand Trail is turning a blighted former public works project into 8 miles of hike and bike trails connecting the Katy Trail to the Design and Medical districts in Dallas. The foundation began in 2002 when a group of dedicated individuals formed the Friends of the Trinity Strand Trail to spearhead the planning, construction and enhancement of a 7.8-mile non-motorized hike and bike trail along the original Trinity River watercourse. The first 2.5 miles of trails opened in September 2015, and once the project is complete, it will connect more than 73 miles of trail.

In the past two years the Jingle Bell Run, sponsored by Generational Equity, has raised more than $200,000 for the two organizations. The annual event takes place a few days before Christmas and includes a one-mile fun run and a 5K at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. After such successful events, Generational Equity extended its partnership with the Jingle Bell Run through 2019.
