We are looking for a Systems Engineer to maintain, upgrade and manage our software, hardware and networks.

Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. The Systems Engineer should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly, and have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. The main goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.


This position's work includes the administration and continual support of our enterprise systems and systems infrastructures. This includes daily issue resolution, regular maintenance and project work.

In this role, accuracy and pride in one's work are crucial to our continued success. We will rely on the Systems Engineer to perform the following duties:

  • administer diverse systems environments; and working to ensure the health of the systems and remediating any issues or problems that affect the quality of service to our users
  • work in a team based environment with other technicians on problem resolution
  • participate in project meetings with technical and non-technical customers with a customer oriented mindset
  • demonstrate strong oral and written communications, organizational ability, problem solving attributes, critical thinking skills and work with minimum direct supervision
  • quickly learn new software products, work with end-users to resolve issues, and assist them in using software
  • troubleshoot hardware problems on multiple makes and models of desktop computers and servers
  • administer and troubleshoot: Microsoft Server 2k12/2k16, Office 365 including Exchange Hybrid setup and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services
  • work with virtualized (VMware) environment
  • work with the Firewalls, Switches, Wireless Access Points and Storage Area Network Appliances
  • conduct routine network hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established policies and configuration guidelines
  • Install and configure software and hardware.
  • set up accounts and workstations
  • monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • troubleshoot issues and outages
  • ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls.
  • upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • work with end-users on the phone to troubleshoot problems remotely
  • provide onsite support for remote offices if needed.
  • develop expertise to train staff on new technologies.
  • take ownership of the systems and stay knowledgeable of up and coming technologies through continued research.


The ideal candidate will possess the following abilities, attributes, experience and skills:

  • Degree or technical institute degree/certificate in Computer Science, Information systems, or other related field or, equivalent work experience.
  • Five plus (5+) years of experience in Systems/Network Administration
  • Working experience with:
    • Windows Server 2k12/2k16 including Active Directory including but not limited to Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Clustering
    • Intermediate Management Level of Office 365 including OneDrive, Teams and Exchange Hybrid setup. Understands Exchange roles and architecture, mail flow, SMTP, client connection protocols and fundamentals (Outlook, ActiveSync)
  • Working knowledge of:
    • LAN/WAN/WLAN computer connectivity throughout the network
    • Sharepoint
    • Microsoft SQL
    • VMWare
    • FortiOS
